Why It Matters

Eritrean culture is deeply rooted in family values — values that are now being diluted by distance.  At Eritreans for Learning, we are passionate about preserving and promoting this rich heritage for our youth in diaspora.

Many Eritrean families now reside across the globe, a consequence of historical events. However, this geographical distance should not dim the flame of cultural identity. Our youth deserve to grow up with a strong understanding of their heritage, the stories of their ancestors, and the traditions that bind them to their families back home.

Through education, we empower our youth to connect with their roots, promoting a sense of pride and belonging. Imagine a young Eritrean, born far from home, confidently conversing with their grandparents in their native tongue. Picture them experiencing a surge of pride as they learn about the heroes and triumphs of Eritrea’s history. These are the connections we strive to create – bridges built on knowledge and understanding to equip future generations to carry the torch of Eritrean culture forward.
